About Lindsay Burke
Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)
I'm a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 15 years of clinical experience. I provide thoughtful, individualized psychiatric care for adults navigating complex mental health challenges.
My work integrates modern psychiatry with thoughtfully applied functional medicine- expanding what is possible beyond symptom management alone. I help clients gain clarity about root causes, build resilience, and move towards meaningful, lasting change.

My Philosophy of Care
I believe that symptoms are meaningful signals- not labels that define someone. By taking the time to understand the biological, psychological, and environmental influences involved, real change and healing become possible.
I see my work as both a responsibility and a privilege. Care should not be rushed or limited by outdated models. Patients deserve access to thoughtful, evidence-based treatment that reflects the most current understanding of mental health.

PRESCRIPTION MEDICATION MANAGEMENT
Thoughtful use of psychiatric medication can be a powerful tool to ease symptoms and make room for other types of growth. Lindsay is educated on the most current and effective medication approaches. She is also skilled in "de-prescribing," or helping people carefully taper off of or lower their dose of medication.
FUNCTIONAL & GENETIC LAB TESTING
Speciality laboratory testing is often helpful to identify biological factors that influence mood, cognition, and overall mental health. Areas assessed may be micronutrient status, gut-brain axis, hormones, immune status, and genetic vulnerabilities.
PSYCHOTHERAPY
Lindsay has extensive training in psychotherapy and draw from attachment-based therapy, nervous system regulation, and resilience-focused strategies. This helps patients overcome patterns that may be limiting progress.
NUTRACEUTICALS
Use of professional-grade supplements can help support healthy biochemistry. This often results in faster, more complete healing and reduces the need for prescription medication. Lindsay is precise with supplements and uses lab results and genetic vulnerabities to determine the most effective plan.
Collaborative Care
Many people I work with already have trusted providers—whether a therapist, primary care physician, or naturopath.
You don’t have to start over here.
My role is often to add depth and clarity, not replace what’s already working. When helpful, I collaborate directly with your existing providers to ensure your care is thoughtful, aligned, and cohesive.
This approach is especially helpful for:
-
clarifying diagnosis or treatment direction
-
optimizing or simplifying medication
-
integrating biological, psychological, and lifestyle factors
-
supporting more complex or treatment-resistant cases
Care works best when it’s connected. My goal is to fit into your existing care in a way that strengthens the overall picture.

Frequently Asked Questions
DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE?
True Psychiatry is a private-pay practice and does not bill insurance directly. This allows for longer appointment times, more comprehensive evaluation process, and greater flexibility in developing individualized treatment plans. A superbill can be provided for patients who wish to seek possible reimbursement through their insurance provider.
WHAT DOES THE INTIAL PSYCHIATRIC EVALUATION INVOLVE?
The initial evaluation is a comprehensive assessment designed to understand the full context of your mental health. In addition to discussing current symptoms, we explore medical history, lifestyle factors, and biological influences that may be contributing to how you are feeling. Intake forms are kept to a minimum as Lindsay feels discussing history and symptoms is more impactful when done together.
DO YOU OFFER VIRTUAL APPOINTMENTS?
Yes. Both in-person and virtual appointments are available. Virtual visits are conducted through a secure telehealth platform and are available to patients throughout Colorado.
